❓FAQ
Frequently asked questions
🔥 What happens when I burn an LP token?
Your LP token is sent to the immutable vault - a smart contract with no withdraw function, no upgradeability, and no keys. Once burned, it's permanently locked on-chain - and can never be recovered.
🧨 Can I undo a burn?
No. There is no undo. No admin. No "just in case." This is on-chain finality, by design.
🧾 How do I verify that a burn actually happened?
All burn transactions are recorded on-chain. Once completed, you can:
View the vault contract on a block explorer
See your LP token transferred into the vault
Confirm that it has never been moved out (because it can’t be)
🧱 What chains are supported?
LP Inferno is on Base chain. We're also integrated with Sepolia testnet, so you can test our platform before using. Additional chain integrations are on our roadmap.
💵 Which wallets are supported?
You can connect a MetaMask wallet, with further wallet options coming soon including Safe Gnosis Multisig compatibility.
🔐 Is this safe?
Yes - LP Inferno is:
Deployed as an immutable smart contract.
Has no upgrade paths.
No admin access.
Verified smart-contract.
Auditable source code.
There are no functions that allow the vault to send tokens back out. None.
🪙 What kinds of LP tokens can I burn?
We currently support both V2 (ERC-20) and V3 positions (ERC-721). We're working on a v4 integration to be released in due course.
🧠 Why not just send tokens to 0x000...dead
?
0x000...dead
?You can - but technically, addresses like 0x000...dead
still exist.
There’s an astronomically small chance (1 in 2¹⁶⁰) they could be brute-forced.
LP Inferno 100% eliminates that risk. It uses a contract with no private key, no way out, and no ambiguity.
When you send to the burn address, to verify users need to understand how to navigate the blockexplorer, but when you burn with LP Inferno it's transparent on our platform.
🤝 Why should I burn instead of lock?
Burning is the ultimate public signal of commitment:
It removes your ability to ever move or rug the liquidity.
It builds trust with your community.
It proves you’ve made a permanent decision.
Locks are be time-based. Burns are forever.
